I am going in for a pre-employment drug screen and am legally prescribed methadone. I am concerned that the drrug screening agency is going to tell the company I'm applying to that I am on methadone. Especially, BC I would be getting a company car. I thought HiPPA protected me, but I'm not sure.

Question: Is Methadone one of the drugs they are testing for?
If not, then you should tell them, but they should NOT tell the employer....they, however, need to know because of the agents that may show up positive in your test.
HIPPA is the Privacy and Portability Act, but covers patient and medical provider....if the lab gives you a HIPPA to read, then you are covered, but I'd ask....

I just want to say this to you on a personal note: if I were the employer and I knew about the Methadone, I may ask you to relate to me what and why, but I certainly wouldn't stop you from using the company car. Everyone should always get a hand UP when they are reaching UPWARDS also on their own. Good Luck.

If I take a oxycodone drug urine test to detect oxycodone only will a lortab show up on it? Or a methadone? Or if I take a methadone test will oxycodone or lortab show up on that one?

They are all opiates but Methadone shows as Methadone
Oxycodone as oxycodone, and hydrocodone as hydrocodone.

Okay if you are going to judge me then dont bother answering please! I have my own beliefs about marijuana and i dont need to know yours! My question is for anyone who may have been in my situation before... Since i am on methadone the hospital could test my baby and i for other drugs when my baby is born.... I have stopped smoking weed 4 days ago... My due date is oct. 3rd and of course i could have my baby earlier-
I am wondering what happened to you if you were in the same situation.. I am having my baby at mcgee in oakland... I kno wi am capable of being a great mom. I have my own house and a room for my baby plus everything i will need to care for her. I have been on methadone for over two years now and i have not used heroin since being on it...
Or if anyone is a cys caseworker and can answer my ?'s that would be great too... I am not out to be judged! Thanks
mummy sarah, You said if i dont smoke weed for the rest of my life i will be a good mom... Thats funny smokimg weed in noway will effect my mommy skills... There is nothing wrong with smoking weed.. I wouldnt do it around my baby! Idk everyone has soo many opinions about this and that is fine but i just wanted to hear frm ppl who have been in this situation and actally know what could happen... I know I will be a good mom- And it is so sad it does seem like ppl who do hard drugs while pregnant their babies come out fine and ppl who dont have their kids have problems... But you cant really tell what type of problems they will have untill they get a lil older than the problems show up such as add adhd ect. A girl i know who wa son methadone had her baby and it tested pos for heroin and weed and she got it taken for a month- they gave the baby to her mom and she just had to have clean urines and now she has him... Its different with every case though it seems.. I just wish i could get some reliable info! Thakns
mummy sarah i am sorry you had a bad childhood but i must say i do not believe that weed is the reasoon your dad was the way he was...when i smoke im not all doped up...when i did heroin yes i was all doped up and i wouls get irritated easily and doing heroin would make me a bad mom... but not weed...

Hey hunni. CPS will not take your child away for just marijuanna unless you had any prior open cases with them, I took a drug class, and it said that it takes 45 days for marijuanna to clear form your system. So if you quit 4 days ago, you should be fine, you will most likely have none or very very little levels of thc in your system and And if your doctor knows you are on methadone than that should not be a problem.

I completely understand where you are coming from, as i smoked marijuanna for most of my pregnancy and even discussed it with my doctor, Whom told me marijuanna is not a big issue anymore, and there is no evidence to suggest that it harms your unborn baby, he just told me to not go crazy with the stuff.

I asked him what would happen if i tested posititve after my baby was born. He said that the doctors would let me know and would have to make note of it, but if thats all you test positive for than CPS will not be contacted. You should be fine. Iam 36 weeks and just quit 3 days ago as well. I wouldn't worry hunni. Just dont smoke anymore untill you have your little one.

Ignore the rude people on here who criticise and judge you. They are just ignorant and dont bother knowing all of the facts before they put their 2 cents in. And like i said it takes weed 45 days to clear from your system so i think you will be just fine. If you ahve not used heroin your entire pregnancy then your baby will not test positive for it. The fact that you accepted methadone treatment, and haven't done herion since, is a clear sign that you do care, and you are trying ot get yourself off the herion (which it looks like you have) so that right there will more than likely show your doctors you are a together person, and can do whatever you have to, to create a good environment for you and your child.

Is there anyway possible? I have seen alot of people say no, you can only test positive for Methadone with a Methadone specific test. so there's no way possible? i get drug tested by my probation officer and they have the three panel basic drug test. opi/thc/coc. i tested positive for opiates. theres no way possible that is the methadone? please someone give me hope!

You will test positive for opiates and Methadone if you were using a different opiate too. Methadone does not test like a typical opiate. Otherwise, all of Methadone patients could use opiates and get away with it.
