and if so do you know any one that has succesfully gotten off the programme, and STAYED clean?
I am on the program and there are people who get off the program and stay clean but the relapse rate is in the 90% range. The problem is the misconception that your not "clean" while on Methadone. This is not true. There is no cure for addiction. It is a chronic illness. Therefore treating it with meds like any other chronic illness must become acceptable in society.
My son is 29 years old and I have been through a lot with him but now he is on a programme again but I sometime think he is using something else .I am getting realy confused. He said he is not but Idont believe him could someone tell me what to look for .

If you are on the methadone programme then your medical information regarding this will be confidential. However if you have ever been convicted and/or arrested of any crime including minor traffic offenses then you will require a visa to enter the United States.
If that is the case then contact the American Embassy in your home country.
Go cold turkey for a week and forget Merhodone. Most addicts end up addicted to Methodone and drugs. If you want to give it up go for broke and lock yourself away for a week or better still get someone to lock you in and sweat it out .
I was just reading that you are not supposed to take a diuretic when you are in a methadone program and I wanted to know what happens if you do.Thanks.
There is only one that I am aware of but it doesn't preculde diuretic 'water pill' use if you have high blood pressure. Methadone (Dolophine) may interact with thiazide type diuretics causing orthostasis (feeling of lightheadedness when standing).
BTW, it has nothing to do with eliminating the drug faster.
