I was just reading that you are not supposed to take a diuretic when you are in a methadone program and I wanted to know what happens if you do.Thanks.
There is only one that I am aware of but it doesn't preculde diuretic 'water pill' use if you have high blood pressure. Methadone (Dolophine) may interact with thiazide type diuretics causing orthostasis (feeling of lightheadedness when standing).
BTW, it has nothing to do with eliminating the drug faster.
I am a single mom who's only income is $80 a week child support. The methadone program in my state is $91 a week. I need to be on the program in order to be able to work and function, but I cannot work for the first 30 to 90 days because I have to go to the clinic everyday until I earn the right to bring medication home. The closest clinic is an 80 mile round trip. There is no way I could make it to a job on time with those clinic hours. I understand there are night time jobs, but I don't want to do that to my 2 yr old. She has an excellent schedule that works very well for her. I don't want to interrupt that now. A schedule is just too important for her. Any ideas on how to get help paying for the program?
Hmmm. Surely there must be a way to get this type of treatment for free... I wonder why any government program would make someone pay if the price exceeded their income. Have you seen a case worker or social worker at your local mental health office? I think that may be a good place to start. I know that a friend of mine here in Texas doesn't pay because she is a student and has no income. I wish you luck and I wish I had a better answer. What state do you live in? Maybe I could dig up some info.

If it is normal then will I ever get my period again, or will I only get it if I get off the program. I am trying to get pregnant as well and I cannot see when I am ovulating because I do not get a period. Also is this healthy that I do not get my period because of the methadone?

Many women don't have periods when they use opiates regularly. If they cut down or stop the periods may return. There's a good chance of getting pregnant during this time of you don't use contraception.

what are the options for opite dependency programs? im already on methadone. I want to get off, so I was wondering if there are any better programs that would make it easier to get off?? and are there places that give you meds for the after effects like fatigue and all the other symptoms i'll have after I get off, and what are those places called?? thanks for any help!
Hell, anything is better than methadone. That stuff is actually more addicting than heroin.
it has been months, and i understand that methadone depleates all desire for sex but it has been about 8 months I'm starting to go crazy , what can my boyfriend take to help want sex during his treatment program.
I never knew that methadone did that. I wish I could give some to my husband lol. I have a very low sex drive from effexor. there is a pill called cobra that helps with labido he could try that??

Court Case Preview – Matt Mernagh
After four months of prep, tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 17, the team of lawyer Paul Lewin and cannabis celebrity Matt Mernagh will present their argument Health Canada’s medicinal marijuana program is an illusion for the majority of Canadians trying to access it. The trial commences at 10 a.m. at St. Catharines ON courthouse and is scheduled for three weeks. Mernagh was charged with growing cannabis for personal consumption in The Garden City and again three months later when he moved to Toronto. Charges he doesn’t deny. His Toronto charges were withdrawn, but for some reason the St. Catharines charge remained. Lewin will argue Mernagh had no choice but to grow his own marijuana to treat his medical condition. Their case will highlight plenty wrong with Health Canada’s medicinal marijuana program and shortage of family physicians in parts of Ontario.
An overwhelming amount of evidence came directly from Health Canada during pre-trial. Including documents from Canadian Medical Association suggesting a doctor registry be created. The registry would allow doctors to refer patients to doctors familiar with . Creating an open and transparent system. Mernagh notes that there are pot doctors, but people have to engage in the cannabis culture to find their names. Mernagh has spent the last four months at the law office of Lewin & Sagara speaking with Canadians from coast-to-coast who are unable to access the program. Mernagh used his extensive journalism skills to write sworn statements with the editing assistance from Paul Lewin. The bulk of the court record has already been submitted.
