I have been going to methadone clinics for over 3 yrs and can no longer afford the gas it takes to go there daily, and the fees! Is there anyone who knows of a Doctor who'll prescribe the pill form?
Generally the only doctor who will prescribe at home methadone treatments is the one at the clinic you've been going to. Usually after consistent negative DT results. Otherwise, you're kinda SoL.

My boyfriend doesnt have any pain and takes Methadones practically everyday [2 pills a day] for meer enjoyment. They give him the energy he craves and puts him in a better move.... hes been taking them for about 7 months. He started out getting "high" off of just one methadone pill and now months later he needs double the amount and has become greatly addicted. Will he eventually overdose? Is this hurting his body? What do i have to watch for?
He wont overdose on just 2 pills. but as you said, he started taking just 1, now it's 2, pretty soon it will be 3, then 5, and on, and on, until he is VERY addicted. Soon after that, all that will matter is him finding more pills to get his "high". If he has no will to stop NOW, it will only get worse. He will start mixing, and blending meds, to try to get a buzz, if there are no Methadone pills available. The mixing, and blending can/will lead to an ovedose. And if a supply of Methadone is available, it too can lead to an overdose. If he is not willing to stop using them, if I were you, I would watch for the first chance to get him out of my life. He is headed down a road, that is very selfish, and cares for nothing!! Not work, bills, friends, family, or you.
Methadone is a narcotic pain med--it is sedating. Seraquil is a sedative used in the treatment of many mental health issues like anxiety, bi-polar disease and some personality disorders.
Both of these meds are very sedating and dangerous if not taken under the care of a Doctor who knows how to prescribe and mix these types of meds.
It is not so much the Seraquil but Methadone has a long half life and accumilates with each dose taken.
Add yet another sedating med to a med already building up blood levels and the result could be very bad.
My fiance is addicted to pain pills. We have talked about getting her some help from a methadone clinic. I have researched methadone, and from what I am seeing, some people use methadone for pain relief, and some people have even gotten addicted to it. How is this helping a person who is trying to get off pain pills, if their taking something that they could also get addicted to?
My father was put on methodone in an effort to "wean" him off of oxycontin. He got off the oxcyontin but became horribly addicted to the methodone. The next step was to wean him off of the methodone. The substitute they gave him for pain relief did not work, withdrawl from the methodone made him severly depressed. He committed suicide. Please don't let her take methodone.

It depends on several factors but Methadone is not one of the drugs you can play around with and survive for very long. peoples tolerance plays a role as does whether or ot the frug is mixed with anything. Methadone and benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Klonipin, etc.) is extremely dangerous as is methadone and alcohol. The big issue with methadone that makes it so much more dangerous than other pills when abused is its long half life. It stays in your system long after the effects have worn off so when you take more you are poisoning yourself if you don't know what your doing. Methadone is a wonderful medication when used properly for those suffering from addiction or in chronic pain but taken without a doctors supervision it can be deadly.
