I am on methadone maintenance aka mmr and I have gallstones. I went to the ER twice and both times as soon as they found out I was on methadone, it was like I had a contagious terminal illness. I haven't yet received the proper care and I am in terrible pain. I need something to take for pain. Can anyone help me with the names of medications that will help me until my appointment with the surgery clinic. I AM MISERABLE!!!!
Urso Forte is used to relieve gallstones. Methadone is used for chronic pain and methadone maintanence. They treat me like I'm on heroin and I have never taken it. I'm on it for chronic pain, so they are ASSuming that that should kill your pain. Ask them for Urso Forte that is what I was on and didn't have to have surgery and got pain relief for that, they are ass-uming that you are looking for drugs.HINT: NEVER EVER go to the ER for pain unless your regular doc tells you to. You need a primary doctor. Any ER --even with my 60lbs of records still assumes I'm looking for drugs. I have had arthritis since I was 3. A different pain pill will not help your gallstones and if you asked for a certain one that may be why they saw you as a drug seeker = the methadone--face it -I know too-it has a bad rep. good luck
doctor talks about methadone patients who were given nutridone to help erase methadone side effects
I just started in a pharmacy and they do needle exhange and methadone, i find myself being a bit stand offish and feel uncomfortable. some of them are quite rude?

it's something you will have to put up with, . ask for advice from other employees who work there. ,eventually you will get used to it and it will bother you less and less.

I'd like to know, whether through your own experience, or if you're a medical professional.
My mother, who was battling a pill addiction, started about a month ago and now she is talking about quitting due to us not having the money.
She's become a real b*** since she's been clean. Wanna know how long I have to put up with this.
I'm a graduate (unregistered) pharmacist so I haven't had personal experience with this but many pharmacists I've worked with have said relapse is common, and that very few people get off it permanently first time. It sounds like a social worker would help in this case. It's amazing what one can do. For example, here in Aus, there's 2 ways of getting dosed--through your local chemist, which is expensive as it's not covered by our universal healthcare plan, or through a public clinic which is free, but the waiting list is months. Hospitals are not supposed to dose, but one patient has managed to work out such that she's dosed by us in the hospital on weekdays for free, because she only has enough money for the weekend at her local chemist, and it's not practicable for her to get to the nearest clinic 20km away.
She's probably cranky because whatever she was addicted to would've made her relax and be in a better mood, and now it's gone. Beware this process may take years but kudos to her for doing what's she's doing.

Will it prohibit the clinic from future treatment of this patient? This person needs help. If he's receiving treatments everyday he shouldn't be snorting cocaine.
DON'T DO IT!!!!! If you report them and they kick them out of the clinic then they will have yet another drug problem to deal with. The better thing to to is to too look into treatment places. Many of them will still does the client on methadone if they are in there for another reason. Another option is trying to find them out paitent treatment for the, Trurt me from the bottom og my heart (I am in a methadone clinic) it will do nothing good of you get them kivked out og there if you think its bad them using cocaine imagine what it would be like if they were addicted to herion and coke. The best option as I sais is to look around for places that will help him.couslers and things like that. He is doing good by ggetting on methadone taking that away from will will do damange and will also probaly not help anything.
I do have a valid license (nursing). I am waiting on a DEA Background check. I've passed the typical background check, this time and several times before. What is a DEA Check and how long does it take? I find nothing on it, except for Drs. Anyone ever had to pass one? I don't think Health is the best topic for this, however I don't see one that fits!
The DEA background check is a check to see whether or not you have ever been charged with or convicted of a narcotic-related offense. The length of time to get the results back can vary depending upon the person moving the paper (typical of government agencies)....my guess would be 2-4 weeks.

Lightlake Therapeutics, Inc. acquires a patent with the potential ...
Lightlake Therapeutics Inc (LLTP OTCBB) has acquired US Patent 5,587,381, entitled: ‘Method for terminating methadone maintenance through extinction of the opiate-taking responses’, using an opioid antagonist as treatment. The Patent also covers treatment for addiction to other legally available opioids and to stimulant drugs such as Cocaine and Amphetamines.
Unmet Need Despite the huge rising number of patients with dependency to both legal and illegal substances, there are few effective treatment options for physicians. In particular, methadone treatment represents a significant challenge, whereby patients commonly replace heroin addiction with lifelong methadone dependency, and still exhibit cravings and other opioid associated side-effects, and are unable to terminate the treatment. The Patent 5,587,381 provides a safe and effective method for terminating methadone maintenance. After controlled withdrawal, the patient takes methadone while an opiate antagonists blocks positive reinforcement. As a result, the methadone-taking responses are extinguished and the craving for methadone is eliminated. An additional procedure is also provided to help guard against resumption of opiate use.
