I have a friend that goes to a methadone clinic daily and he said that there are video cameras in the bathrooms to monitor drug screens. I was wondering if this is legal....?
Yes its legal to have them in the bathroom, but ONLY for the drug screens. They should be turned off if someone is just using that bathroom but not taking a drug screen. Also the camera should be pointed in a way where there are no private parts seen. But if alot of people have a problem with it (I would) he should complain to the rights board (they should have a number up in the lobby) and see if maybe they can get a person to come in and watch instead so they know that them using the bathroom isn't being recorded. Thats how they do it at my methadone clinic.
As for the guy who told her to get new friends. You are VERY rude. Its GOOD thing hes in that clinic hes trying to help himself. Just because people made mistake in thier lives doesn't mean they should be treated horribly forever.

Of course it is legal. Methadone and Xanax (alprazolam) are not even in the same class of drugs, methadone is a synthetic phenylheptylamine opioid analgesic and alprazolam is a benzodiazepine (or more concisely a triazolobenzodiazepine) class anxiolytic, anti-panic, sedative/hypnotic.
Doctors can prescribe as they see fit. It is actually very common for opioids and benzodiazepines to be used together and people with chronic pain may take a drug like methadone routinely and they may also be prescribed another opioid like oxycodone or morphine for break threw pain.
Although Xanax should not be used and it not indicated for pain. Xanax is used to treat acute anxiety states, for the management of anxiety disorders, for panic disorder with or without anxiety, and for anxiety associated with depression.

Methadone is Methamphetamine Amphetamine base and it is not found in the latest edition of MIMS. Most likely it is not sold in the Philippines and should it be sold it will require Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Dangerous Drug Board clearance which I do not think they will approve its distribution and sale since it can cause addiction. Methadone is used to treat Addiction, and in the wrong hands it will cause more problems than solutions. I am sure drugs that are already approved by the said agencies are more than enough to be used by Medical Professionals to treat drug addiction in rehab centers. Should you be admitted don't worry they will give you plenty of beating that you probably would not need Methadone to relief you of the pain.

Well, yes. It's a prescription medication. It is prescribed for severe pain (there are better options, though...but it is still prescribed) and for heroin withdrawals.
As long as it is prescribed by a doctor, it's legal.
