I need info on what is it that these prescription drugs do to the people that they kill.Iam about to visit my doc for antidepressant meds so i want to be informed before hand so i can ask the relevant questions.thanks for the help!!

Each individual persons reaction to either of these prescription drugs is as different and diversified as thier personality. 1 mans poison is another mans delight. Zoloft has been known to cause many problems , but only in those whose genetic makeup predisposes them to this outcome. The same goes for methadone. I take Effexor 225 mg. daily and 105 mg. of methadone daily . I am doing great. I did alot of trial and error. I found my perfect combination. I took Prozac at one point in my life also w/methadone with the same result. You will not die from taking these prescription drugs but, if you are prone to suicide and take something that doesn't agree w/ you I believe it can agravate your situation. Wether or not You commit suicide at that point depends on how strong you are, not how good the prescription is doing its job. Just remember this. Antidepressants are not a quick fix, they take 6-8 weeks before you feel any improvement at all. For me the Effexor took 2 months. Zoloft does the same thing Effexor does and takes just as long. I agree also that some anti depressants cause problems when you stop taking them. The answer is to wean yourself off them ..do't just stop all at once...thats where your problem lies. Just take it easy. You may not have been ready to stop your therapy..I would be interested to know why you ended your prescription Zoloft program. Most prescription antidepressant therapy is a lifetime program. Most of us do feel like we are getting well but that is when the prescription drug we are taking is working the best..

methadone is mostly used for heroin addicts and i've known some addicts take very large doses and live. they also use methadone for pain, not often. if you are not a heroin addict methadone can be lethal. i worked in a methadone clinic and one time a little bitty drop got on the back of my hand and it quadrupled in size itched like crazy and didn't subside for hours. nasty stuff. zoloft or any anti-depressant is bad. zoloft has alot of horrible side effects. the combination in high doses would kill you, but it also depends on the persons tolerance to drugs.

HARMD only realizes what they want to realize. I have been saying this forever but most don't listen. I was really upset today to read a story about a man who died after taking Methadone and Xanax. The woman who sold him the Methadone is facing LIFE in prison for murder charges while the woman who sold him the Xanax was only looking at 4 years! I think when you buy drugs and overdose YOU and nobody else should be held accountable but Gee Wiz...Life vs. 4 Years? C'Mon. You can read the story at...
