Ive torn the muscles in my back so many times Ive had 13 shots of cortisone over the years and it doesn't work any more. Ive taken percocet and oxycontin that make me high but doesn't stop the pain, and of course got me addicted to the crap. I went to a methadone clinic to get off the pain meds and found the methadone took the cravings and the pain away. how bad is this stuff?
You can get addicted to anything, even Methadone. Talk to the Dr or person in charge of the clinic and see what they say about taking it for pain management. I doubt they would recommend it but see what they say about it. Or talk to your Dr.
An addict describes daily life
I am doing a research paper on Methadone maintenance treatment and why it is bad/not good compared to buprenorphine and/or naloxone. Need like 15 pages of information. Any good websites or good sorurse for great info.

Hopefully you were weened off slowly. If so, you should be ok. Might be a yucky 3-4 days, but you'll be better soon.
If you are quitting cold turkey, you'll be in for some bad days. Chills, sweats, runny nose, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, aches and pains and not being able to sit/or lie still.
You know, you can talk to your doctor about this. They can give you non-addictive medications to help you get through the withdrawals.
***It's not deadly. Alcohol and tranquelizers can be a deadly withdrawal if not medically monitored, but not opiates.

Methadone should only be used by people trying to get off of an opiate addiction. It can just as bad for your health as heroin is. Methadone will not give you a rush. It will not make you feel up. Nor will it really sedate you. Methadone works by blocking opiate receivers in your brain. It would most likely just make you feel a little depressed.

It depends on several factors but Methadone is not one of the drugs you can play around with and survive for very long. peoples tolerance plays a role as does whether or ot the frug is mixed with anything. Methadone and benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Klonipin, etc.) is extremely dangerous as is methadone and alcohol. The big issue with methadone that makes it so much more dangerous than other pills when abused is its long half life. It stays in your system long after the effects have worn off so when you take more you are poisoning yourself if you don't know what your doing. Methadone is a wonderful medication when used properly for those suffering from addiction or in chronic pain but taken without a doctors supervision it can be deadly. Police believe she is responsible for giving her the drug. She later admitted to crushing the pills and putting them in her food.

I’m actually surprised she was able to do this – my son was in the NICU for a week after delivery and those nurses watched him like a hawk! In fact I wasn’t even allowed to prepare his bottles; they did and then gave them to me until I was able to try breastfeeding.
Murphree has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. The baby’s death has been ruled a homicide, as a result of complications of the toxic effects of methadone.

Riddle me this. Baby’s in hosptal for ingesting mom’s methadone. So we know she’s a heroin addict/methadone addict. Yet instead of being in custody or at least the baby being in protective custody while in the hospital while they should have been questioning heroin mom, they let her be alone with baby so she can finish the job she started? FAIL, cps, ULTIMATE FAIL. that baby’s death is on their hands.
