I know someone who drinks heavily e.g. a bottle of wine or more a day. They are on a highish dose of methadone, diazepam,anti depressants , risperidone,and other pills, not sure what. They have been complaining of blackouts and hearing voices. Also displayed paranoid behaviour. Dunno if it is the drug cocktail, as this person is possibly schizophrenic also. The anti psychotic dose is only 1 mg per day. What actually happens when methadone is mixed with alcohol??
any abuse of this kind can result in drug induced phychosis alot of people using "tame" drugs end up in a living hell often with incurable but hopefully manageable schizophrenia this drug induced phychosis is a lot more common than users would care to know but most choose to ignore common sense thinking it wont happen to me! i would say if you have ever felt paranoid after a "session"then you are already walking a knife edge and a hairs breadth away from a non stop living nightmare.

Someone I knew at school has recently passed away in his sleep. He had been relatively fit and healthy and full of life in the week leading up to his death. The night he died he had been drinking and had also taken methadone (he had never taken heroin before though, but had taken most other drugs in his time).
Why did he die? Did he 'forget' to breathe? Did the combination cause his heart to stop? What would it have been?
