Methadone Drug Addiction .com

I have been on methadone for a long time, my friend told me to try a suboxone because I was curious if it would make me feel better, so I took a half of a 8mg tablet and nothing happened so I took my methadone dose I usually take, will my methadone work even though I took suboxone 30 minutes before? I'm looking for an answer from someone with prior experience please!!

This is a question too important to leave to people on this forum. Ask your doctor these types of questions.

Obviously Methadone will not give a Vicodin buzz....

Thats realy hard for anyone to say even a doctor or a pharmacist. Good luck finding out. Im sure its different for each person. But just incase im wrong and someone who does have a answer to this please post and if you can show a source. Thx

i had been on methadone for 6yrs and went into bad withdrawls i had to go to the hosiptal ., but its been four weeks and it was worth being sick for four days .i am so happy to be off methadone i thought it would never happen for me .my question is. how hard is it gonna be to get off suboxin????

He should talk with his physician about ways to lessen his dependence on these medications; but he has to want to do something about it himself. That's where it has to begin.

For now, what you can do is to give your brother all the loving support he needs, especially if he's living with medical conditions which require him to take these medications. Do not get on his case or nag him about his use of these drugs. That will not help him at all.

I just got home from getting my daily liquid methadone dose (150mg) and puked (30-35 minutes later). I thought I could keep it down, but i was wrong and puked up about a mouthful (my mouth is big, i'm 6'5 260lbs). All I've had this morning was bottled water and my methadone. I managed to only spit out one mouthful of puke and I swallowed the subsequent 4 or 5 times that it came into my mouth and it really tasted like methadone.
Fortunately, I don't think the mouthful I spat out tasted as much like methadone... but I'm worried because I don't wanna go through withdrawals and the whole "half life" theory doesn't seem to apply with me because I'm usually feeling sick and painful again about 20 hours after dosing (still working on finding the right dose for me, I'm a big guy and I had a HUGE tolerance, and even though some people can stay symptom free for 48 hours after theyve been on it for a while, i'm not so lucky. plus, i take it for pain for my crohn's disease which is flaring up right now). They won't repeat doses at my clinic under any circumstances, so I can't call them for help because they'll tell me i'll be fine whether I will be or not. I've read online that usually as long as you don't vomit X minutes (i saw one site say 20 minutes and two say 30 minutes) after dosing you'll be okay but I'm like right at that cutoff.
I just was wondering if anybody has experience in this situation that can help me determine if I'm gonna be safe from withdrawals or not because (even though it's completely against the rules and illegal) my girlfriend has her dose for the day because she got her take home a week before I did (i get mine this weekend) and she will give me some if I need it then. Will I need it?
I guess I'll know myself in a few hours... but any input would be GREAT because she'll be getting up soon and dosing herself and I don't wanna make her save me any of it if I'm not going to need it, plus I'm not trying to get high or overdose on the methadone, I'm not going to take it just in case since even if i did retain all my dose it would just get me high or whatever. thanks yahooligans!

I dont have personal experience with Methadone- but good luck Mate. To you and Your Girlfriend for making the big step to get help in the first place. I know a few people who have managed to get off heroin. They are ok. It took alot of shit. Alot of guts and determination and Im very proud of them. So Good on you!
