Methadone Drug Addiction .com

my friend has 3 10mg methadone. i don't want her to eat them but she wants to. if she does will she even get "high"? and will she be alright...i don't think she has a very high tolerance for this

This is why people have such a hard problem getting the prescription drugs that they actually need. Methadone when used for and why it is properly prescribed for a person is a perfectly good drug but when misused and not by the person it was prescribed for, or not in the dose it was intended to be used is a bad drug.
She will get a "high" but not like the other drugs she has probably used in the past and it is a highly addictive drug that is going to send her seeking other drugs in a worse way. There are many side effects and you never know which one is going to hit her and you honestly don't know what she has taken or done up to this point which can make a big difference in what the body chemistry will do in the breakdown of the drug.
Don't let her do it. Help her find something else to do with her time that can stop her from self harm because that is all she is doing, which is illegal and she honestly needs help. Please if she will not listen to you, find someone she will. People sometimes overdose on the most minute amounts of prescription drugs not because of the amount but because of what is already built up in their body and their system cannot flush out what is already in there on top of what has just been put in there.
Imagine how you would feel if she accidentally overdosed, that should be your answer.

I haven't taken any opiates in over a month, Methadone in about 3. I found a 10mg tab that I forgot about, would one of these be enough for a good nod? Or perhaps too much? I'm unfamiliar with tolerance when it comes to this drug.

When used recreationally, any amount of opiate is too much.

ok here is something to think about from a recovering addict.
Methadone is the most dangerous and addictive substance known to man.Please don't start taking it.Once you get that first high you will never stop and you won't stop chasing that high and you will end up taking more and more.It also takes the longest to detox from because the drug stores inside of your bones not the muscles like other opiates.
It takes months to detox.Detox from opiates is the worst experience you will ever have in your entire life.don't go down that road.

ok, i was thinking about taking a 10 mg methadone pill and cutting it in half and consuming only one half of it. Does this mean that i would only be consuming 5 mg? or how does this work?

You got the right idea. If I only needed 5 mg, that is what I would do assuming that it isn't being done recreationally. Opiates are too dangerous to the cardiovascular for me to mess with unnecessarily.
