I'm doing a research about alcoholism and I'm wondering if anybody knows if I can find a facility in Huntington Park which offers an alcohol treatment program. I'm planning to attend alcohol treatment programs so that I will be able to understand alcoholics better. I'm writing about the reasons why they got addicted to alcohol, how they are affected by alcohol, what made them say yes to treatment and how they respond to the program. I really think my research will help a lot of people so please help me. Thanks.
Researching about the lives of alcoholics and the process they undergo to achieve full recovery is a brilliant idea. I think it will be a good reference to all people and it might help other people to stay away from alcohol. Make your research really informative and authentic. Good luck to you and here are some links to help you out with your research:

I am fed up of my husband's nightly drinking and daily hangovers. I have been telling him to quit drinking but nothing works. How do I help him find an alcohol treatment program?
Alcohol consumption can either be an advantage or a disadvantage to the drinker depending on the amount consumed. Because some liquors like wine have been proven to help prevent cardiovascular disease, it doesn't mean these should be taken in large amounts. In fact, one drink a day is enough. Moderate drinking can be defined as a point wherein the health benefits of alcohol are much more than its risks. Drinking alcohol in huge amounts could lead to heart failure and liver disease. Changes in behavior may also occur because alcohol attacks the brain, too. All this tells us how having horrible hangovers can be the least disadvantage in being an alcoholic.
A very strict discipline is needed in controlling oneself to drink moderately. And this may already help a recovering alcoholic, but then there are some people who just can't stop their cravings. This is when an alcohol treatment program comes in.
Your husband is fortunate that there are now many effective treatments he can choose from. And getting himself into an alcohol treatment program will help me develop the self-discipline he needs. The extent of his alcohol dependence will help determine what kind of treatment is best for him. Alcohol treatment programs include psychological therapies, group and interpersonal therapies and recovery sessions.
I am sure that your husband, with your support and an alcohol treatment program, can overcome alcoholism and lead a normal life again.
I need to get into a treatment facility bad. I am 21 and am low income with no health insurance. Medical Discount Plan
ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services.
Individual & Family Health Plans
This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose.
Short Term Medical Plans
This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months.

If you need something more, you can contact your county and based on your income, there are programs you can get into for free. Go to an AA meeting, they can help point you in the right direction.
Does anyone remember that commercial from the 80's for a drug and alcohol treatment center? They used to run the commercial constantly (at least in Southern Cal), I think the place was called Schick or New Beginnings. What was the name of the song that played in the background during the commercial? It is a very famous classical piece that sounds a lot like Canon D (the wedding song) but it's not. They used it in the A&E show "Intervention" the other day so it appears to be synonymous with addiction and treatment. If you know it you're a genius!
I haven't heard it myself but it is probably J.S. Bach's "Air on a G-String" (I'm serious). Many people get those 2 pieces of music confused. It also might be J. S. Bach's "Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring."
