Are there any alcohol abuse treatment centers in Toledo, Oregon? We have this assignment about alcohol abuse and I really want to do well in it. Alcohol abuse is a very sensitive topic for me because I lost my brother Nate because of a car accident wherein the designated driver was an alcoholic. I want to find out as much as I can about alcohol abuse not just because I want to receive good grades but because I want to learn more about it in order to spread an awareness regarding the negative effects of alcohol. It breaks my heart every time I hear a story like that. I really don’t approve of drunk driving myself because my bestfriend almost died because of a driver who was secretly drowned in scotch. I loathed the driver for risking other people’s lives! I do hope you do well in your assignment. My brother has been gobbling up way too much liquor for the past five months or so, and I'm terribly worried. His work has been badly affected by his alcoholism that he nearly got fired. I hope someone out there can lend a helping hand.

If he has been drinking consistently and heavily the last thing he should do is stop on his own. This can be very dangerous. Get him to a hospital if you feel he needs to and will go. Otherwise, the first thing a treatment center will tell you is for him to take a drink if he feels he needs one. They will give him the proper medications to help him detox once he is there.

DART is the acronymn If the person has an employee assistance program they could recomment a treatment centre in your area and probably kick in some payment towards this.
Call AA in your area and AlAnon is a great resource for the family of the one suffering from the disease of addiciton.

If you need something more, you can contact your county and based on your income, there are programs you can get into for free. Go to an AA meeting, they can help point you in the right direction.
